Alonzo Villasenor Villanueva

Alonzo Villasenor Villanueva, 87, was born in Nogales, AZ, died on March 22, 2008 from renal failure, He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carmen Partida Villanueva; sons, Charlie Villanueva (Ana Maria) and Paco Fimbres; daughter Norma Booth; sister Ernestina Ramirez; grandchildren Michelle Skura (Michael), Cynthia Villanueva, Melina Booth, Celina Pacheco (Miguel), Briana Fimbres and Frank E Fimbres (Jennifer); several great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving World War 2 Bushmaster who lived in Nogales. The Bushmasters originally left Nogales on September 16, 1940. He served in the South Pacific, earned the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Purple Heart and other medals. He came home in 1945 with an honorable discharge. He worked for the U S Postal Service in Nogales for forty years. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the America Legion, the Elks, the Masonic Lodge, Shriners, friends of the 1904 Courthouse and he was inducted to the Nogales High School Hall of Fame. Services will be at Adair’s Carroon Funeral Home in Nogales on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at 1:00 pm.
