Vinson Wells, Age 88, of Hamilton, passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospice on Wednesday, December 15, 2004. Born in Hamilton, Ohio, on April 2, 1916, he was the son of the late Solomon and Talitha (Lunsford) Wells. On November 30, 1944, in Newport, Kentucky, Vinson married Jean Marie Penwell. He was employed as a paper machine tender with Sorg Paper Company of Middletown and later with Champion Paper International retiring May of 1981 with 36 years of service. Vinson was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, Senior Citizens, a life member of D.A.V., and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII with the Bushmaster's Unit. He enjoyed playing bridge, vegetable gardening and growing roses for his wife. Vinson is survived by his wife, Jean Wells of Hamilton. They celebrated their 60th anniversary on November 30th. He is also survived by son, Howard V. Wells and his wife Joyce of Middletown; daughter, Pamela J. Vasey and her husband Phil of Rock Hill, South Carolina; sisters, Vida Gregory of Hamilton, Jewell Alston of Bradenton, Florida, and Virginia Young of Hamilton; brothers, Earl B. Wells of La Follette, Tennessee, and Arthur Wells of Cincinnati, Ohio; three grandchildren, Chad H. Wells and his wife Tanya, Holly S. Benoski and her husband Michael, and Brent A. Beltz; three great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-great-grandchildren. Vinson was also preceded in death by five sisters, Goldie Tabler, Sylvia McKinney, Bertha Miller, Lena Jennings, and Edna Coates; and two brothers, Roy and Fred Wells. Funeral services will be held at Webb Noonan Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South "D" Street, Hamilton, at 11am on Saturday, December 18, 2004, with Pastor Mark Wurzelbacher officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:30-11:00am at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions to Ft.
