Thomas R. Willows

Thomas R. Willows, 69, Scranton, passed away late December 25, 1986 at a Kansas City, KS hospital. Mr. Willows was a blacksmith for the Santa Fe Railway before he retired in September 1977. He was born September 22, 1917 at Scranton, the son of George and Phillis Rogers Willows. He spent most of his life in the Scranton community. He was an infantry veteran of World War II where he served in New Guinea, the Philippines and ion the occupation of Japan. Mr. Willows was a life member of Edward "Ted" Rowe Post No. 2709, Veterans of Foreign Wars at Scranton. He was married to Grace Getsinger on August 15, 1939 at Woodward Oklahoma. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Richard T. Willows, Silver Lake, Ohio and Jay R. Willows, Houston, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Leona Vickery, Wichita and two grandchildren. He was cremated. Memorial services were at 2:00 pm on December 28 in the United Methodist Church at Scranton, Inurnment was in Scranton cemetery. Carey Funeral Home, Burlingame, was in charge of arrangements.
