Robert Wyckoff WYCKOFF, SR., ROBERT QUENTIN, died Friday, August 27, 2004 in Norwalk, CT from complications associated with Parkinson's disease. He was 82 years of age. At the time of his passing he had been living in New Canaan, CT, where he had moved in March to be near his son. Mr. Wyckoff was born on November 29, 1921 in Indianapolis, IN, the son of Willis Burl Wyckoff and Essie Hand Wyckoff. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Doris Browning Wyckoff; a son, Joseph David Wyckoff and one sister, Vivian W. Blessing. He is survived by his son, Robert Quentin Wyckoff, Jr. of New Canaan, CT; four sisters, Maxine W. Collier, Mary W. Bailey, Betty W. Shotton and Beverly W. DuBois; three grandsons, Harrison Browning Wyckoff, Chadwick Browning Wyckoff and Ethan Alexander Wyckoff; one granddaughter, Amelia Anahid Wyckoff and numerous cousins. Mr. Wyckoff was educated in the public schools of Winter Park and graduated from the University of Florida with a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering in 1947. Thereafter, he joined the Florida Power and Light Corporation where he remained in service for 38 years prior to his retirement in 1984. Mr. Wyckoff joined the United States Army during his college years and served with the 147 Field Artillery and later as a pilot during World War II, and upon returning from the War continued his service as a member of the U.S. Army Reserves attaining the rank of Colonel prior to his retirement in the 1980's. He resided in Boynton Beach, Lake Clarke Shores and Atlantis, Florida. He was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity and an active member of the Palm Beach Area Alumni Club serving as its President in 1975. He was formerly President of the West Palm Beach Rotary Club, an officer of the Wyckoff Association in America and a life member of the Reserve Officers Association.
